Crystali
Crystali are delicate humanoid creatures that appear similar to Golems, except Crystali are not the result from powerful runes or enchantments, nor any Impera. They are rare naturally occuring phenomenon and are not conjured by any servant to do their bidding. Deep within the crust where water carries countless minerals and chemical mixtures, Crystali form slowly through self assembly of the building blocks of matter. Crystali are sexless and cannot reproduce. Instead, their life cycle is entirely determined by the worlds capacity to naturally produce these offshoot in undisturbed dark caves where puddles form. It is not known what causes these creatures to appear but their existance seem intrinsic to the behaviour of certain types of matter. Due to the long formation process, some Crystali never reach the moment of self-animation, where they break free from their scaffolding nursery, due to other creatures occasionally venturing through caves in search of precious minerals, who then break them apart. During the formation of the Crystali, the Crystalis' consciousness comes on in waves where they experience the process of birth and death numerous times. This process becomes their first experienced memory and largely dictates their neutral behaviour to the idea of existance and non-existance. Among with the formation process, random molecular assembly cause the Crystali to experience a dreamlike state where life goals and wishes may get imprinted. All of their experiences are recorded in crystalline structure changes throughout their entire body, essentially rendering the entire being into a walking mind. Damage to the Crystali from any blunt force, or falling, is likely to cause the Crystali to forget fragments of past events but due to their inherent structure, alterations made to their body through force or other manipulation also means that the Crystali subjectively will interpret these new structures as true past memories and will therefore act thereafter. The structure of the crystal body is so complex that it is hardly possible to fully "program" a Crystali to do your bidding. More likely, the Crystali will undergo some form of existential panic and behave undeterministically.
Their senses are comparable to most other beings but they don't feel pain in the same way as most races. While Crystali does record pain, the sensation is more of that of sound, smell, taste or sight is to other beings and bears little negative consequence when sensed. If anything at all, pain confuses the Crystali because pain often is inflicted by crystalline damage which causes memories to get mixed up. Since Crystali doesn't experience pain like other animals, they cannot emphasize with pain reported from other beings. They do have an excellent sense of emotion instead and largely believes it isn't good to disturb beings physically, assuming that they will experience similar troubles to cognition as themselves do. Anatomically, they don't have any apparent external organs such as eyes, mouth, ears but rather only have a rough humanoid shape. The crystalline structure picks up light, noise and to some degree a form of pain throughout their body, but are oblivious to taste and smell. They are also able to make sounds through tiny vibrations on the surface of their body. A peculiar trait to Crystali is that they are intrinsically light emitters of a different wavelength that most other beings can sense, making them able to navigate in the dark and easily find each other. They are immune to drowning as they don't breathe but they can't make much sound under water and are poor swimmers as they lack anatomical features to propel them in water. Lightning does no apparent physical damage but can cause temporary confusion and erratic behaviour due to memories becoming mixed up. They melt rapidly on contact with lava, often leaving no residue at all. Short falls can easily break them and they are not adept at descending steep terrain or caves.
Their nature is akin that of a chaotic neutral, much like animal behaviour, as they hold no regard to law or order as these are social constructs that are more commonly found in cooperating social races such as humans, elves and dwarves to name a few. They can learn social skills and choose to abide to law and order if they wish, but they can also choose to break the law or disrupt the order to see what will happen out of curiosity. Many are solitary. Their drive is exploratory, curious and they are quick learners. They have no intrinsic or shared language but can learn to communicate by common tounge, or other languages, if the exploratory drive in the Crystali wishes to do so at the present moment. Crystali are not interested in conflicts and are very forgiving by nature. If one Crystali would learn that it or another being would be destroyed, it doesn't resist and would instead choose to experience and accept what is and learn and study the external actors as well as their inner experience of such event. As the Crystali have undergone the experiences of birth and death numerous times during its formation, it is not in any way concerned with deadly outcomes. They have witnessed the crystal birth and death of consciousness and intrinsically assume death is the same for all forms of being. As Crystali doesn't eat and isn't interested in harming other beings, accepts death intrinsically with their view of spiritual immortality, it makes them very neutral with regard to physical violence. If another being would be hurt by a Crystali, it would likely be a result of an unforseen accident or a strange response followed trauma to their crystalline mind body. Crystali only has a few senses with the external world and are more interested in the inner world of themselves and that of other beings and enjoys internal feelings such as joy, peace, understanding and creativity to name a few.
Crystali does not have any religion but given their own free will can choose to follow a belief taught by someone else. During their formation process they learn that life comes and goes and they can feel themselves gradually coming into existance as a shape. They don't feel as if they have a specific identity, but that they are the same as everything else. In a sense, they view the entire world as their mother and themselves at once. They are formed out of nothing but the tiny interactions of matter and they realise that being destroyed they only return to the same state as before their formation, from which they will form yet again. As an analogy, they view life as being the sea, with death being evaporation and birth being rain. With this view, Crystalis' spirit takes on a belief of immortality even if the individual ceases to be, but they are not reckless and understands that each individual is a careful process in the making, worthy of honor and respect - why else would they have formed? This view is not only shared among Crystali but is given to other beings as well. Since they are severed from clinging on to identity, they usually don't have names but given the proposal to identify themselves for consideration of others who don't share their view, they sometimes asks the other party to give a name to them. While Crystali could try to set up birthing chambers for more Crystali to form, the formation process is undeterministic even to a Crystali and the spirit of the Crystali is to accept what is and they usually have no interest in multiplying.
Natural Crystali lifespan is long. It is hard to tell how long a Crystali could live as they rejuvenate easily with rest in a mineral bath. However they are fragile and since they are made out of precious mineral crystals and they occasionally fall to the greed of intelligent beings who see them as a useful resource in about the same way as a lumberjack would a tree. Crystali can form through various minerals but they are generally rather pure constructs of a specific mineral. The most common for this rare being would be Redstone (Redish), Emerald (Greenish), and Lapis (Blueish) Crystali. It is possible for a Nether Quartz (Whiteish) Crystali to form, if Nether Quartz somehow would drizzle into the earth by water streams. As Nether Quartz is unnatural in the common realm, it is not likely that a Nether Quartz Crystali would ever form. Upon death, the Crystali breaks up into pieces of Redstone, Emeralds, Lapis or Nether Quartz and its individual consciousness ends. While a broken Crystali could possibly be reanimated if put into a mineral well and given time to reform, the crystal structures would be very difficult to mend and its memories would likely be lost or transformed.
